Abstract
One hundred and two Klebsiella species isolated from various clinical specimens in Taegu area were tested for antimicrobial drug susceptibility to 20 drugs including 6 drugs of quinolones, 5 of beta-lactam antibiotics, 5 of aminoglycosides, and
other 5
drugs. Klebsiella species were most frequently isolated from urine(67.8%), and followed by sputum(11.8%). Pus(4.9%) and etc.
All stranins were susceptible to enoxacin(Ex), norfloxacin(Nf), ciprofloxacin(Cp), ofloxacin(Of), pefloxacin(Pf) and moxalactam(Mx). 2.9-15.7% of the strains were resistant to nalidixic acid(Na), amikacin(Ak) and rifampin(Rf), 24.5-38.2% were
resistant
to cephalothin, cefamandole(Cf), streptomycin, kanamycin, gentamicin, tobramycin(To), chloramphenicol and trimethoprim. 50-97.1% of the strains were resistant to ampicillin, tetracyclin, sulfisomidine. MIC90 of Ex, Nf, Cp, Pf and Mx were below
the
antimicrobial drug concentration tested. MIC90 of Na, Cf, Ak, To and Rf were 3.83-91.02¥ìg/ml and those of other drugs were 224.71>2048¥ìg/ml. Of 102 strains tested, 30 strains were multiply resistant to 8 or more drugs.
